Philips I908 Octa Core Powered Handset Spotted on Official India Website

    Philips might not be a house hold name in the Indian handset market, but the longtime leader seems optimistic about its new premium phone set to debut in the country soon. Philips has listed a new premium smartphone on their website called the Philips I908 that comes with a 5-inch FHD screen.


    The device appears to be a premium handset, runs on KitKat with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The I908 is a dual SIM handset that most likely is using the MediaTek Octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz with Mali 450 MP4 GPU. The chipset however has not been officially disclosed. This smartphone weighs about 155 grams with battery and it is 8.8mm thick. It is a quad band handset sporting a 5-inch TFT IPS capacitive screen with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution.


    The I908 is loaded with 2GB on-board RAM and internal storage of 16GB. There is micro SD support of up to 32GB. Of the 16GB storage users will get about 12GB space. The back panel looks really good with leather style finishing.


    Philips I908 also comes with a 13MP camera (Auto Focus) on the rear with LED flash and a 5MP on the front. FHD video recording and playback is supported. Key features are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS with A-GPS support and Bluetooth 4.0. There is a 3000 mAh Li-ion battery that as per the company gives a talk time of up to a day.

    The Philips I908 will be available in Black colour. There is no official word on the availability and pricing details of the Philips I908 yet. It is expected that company will announce the smartphone in the coming days.The device with given specifications will complete against the Micromax Canvas Gold, Intex Aqua HD, Moto G,etc.

    This month, Philips mobile has launched Philips Xenium X2566, the company's latest for senior citizens. The phone's keypad has large keys so that elders can read or text or text comfortably without straining their eyes. The phone has unique Magnifier, which allows users to magnify letters, powerful flashlight that can be even when the phone power is switched off. It has emergency SOS feature so that users can press the SOS button hidden under the flashlight to dial out the preset SOS numbers in case of emergency.
