OPPO launches India-exclusive LUMO Lab initiative to enhance localized imaging experiences ahead of Find X9 Series launch

In an effort to adapt its cutting-edge mobile imaging technology for the Indian market, OPPO India has announced the launch of the LUMO Lab, an India-exclusive initiative dedicated to co-developing and fine-tuning camera experiences that capture the country’s rich visual diversity.
The introduction of the LUMO Lab aligns with the upcoming OPPO Find X9 Series launch. This initiative aims to ensure that OPPO’s latest imaging technologies—such as the Hasselblad optics and LUMO Imaging Engine—are optimized for Indian users and address the nation’s distinct photography styles and challenges.
Purpose and Focus -
The LUMO Lab will unite OPPO’s internal imaging experts with renowned Indian photographers to collaborate on real-world visual storytelling. The focus areas reflect the vibrancy and cultural depth of India:
- Authentic Skin Tones - Delivering true-to-life and diverse skin tone rendering.
- Vibrant Celebrations - Capturing the energy and colour of India’s festivals and events.
- Intricate Textures - Showcasing the fine details of traditional crafts and local landscapes.
The Expert Panel -

To lead this effort, OPPO has teamed up with acclaimed Indian photographers Joseph Radhik, Ashik Aseem, and Zaid Salman.
These experts will work closely with OPPO’s imaging R&D team to enhance the Find X platform, beginning with the Find X9 Series.
Through the LUMO Lab, OPPO aims to blend real-world insights with advanced imaging innovation, setting a new benchmark for smartphone photography that celebrates authenticity, emotion, and the beauty of everyday life in India.
