OnePlus X launching on October 29?
OnePlus has again started building #Hype for a new smartphone it seems. The company has just begun tweeting about an October 29 event in London with an "X" as an image calling it "Powerfully Beautiful."
Could this be the OnePlus X or the OnePlus Mini that everyone has been clamoring for? It might just be, earlier yesterday specifications of the OnePlus X surfaced on Amazon India which is still the official partner for OnePlus 2 in India. It makes sense that the company will take the trusted route and keep its current online partners. Moreover, in its "Make In India" event OnePlus also announced that the OnePlus X will be manufactured later in India in partnership with FoxConn.

So, things are really gearing up towards a possible launch with the phone already passing its FCC certification. Coming to the specs listed earlier, the OnePlus X will be a thoroughly mid-range affair, even less powerful than the OnePlus One. It is expected to feature a 5-inch 1080p display running on the MediaTek MT6795 octa-core 64-bit chipset with 2GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage.
The listed specs also talk of a dual-camera setup at the back and a fingerprint sensor. Moreover, we are also hearing of a pressure sensitive touchscreen here from Synaptics, which might offer similar usability as 3D Touch on the iPhone 6s/6s Plus. Although nothing is certain at this point, but the clues do point to a new OnePlus device launching by the end of this year priced less than $250 (about Rs. 16,000).
Update: It seems OnePlus is holding a global event on October 29th, including London, Indonesia and yes, India as well. Given the scale of the event, we expect the OnePlus X to be announced here.
