According to Nothing, the Phone (3a) series will feature three 50-megapixel cameras: a main sensor, a Sony periscope lens, and a front camera, along with an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens. The main sensor boasts the largest full-well capacity among comparable sensors, allowing it to capture a broader range of brightness.

In a side-by-side comparison, Nothing claims that the iPhone 16 Pro Max produces cooler images with a stronger blue tint in its white balance, whereas the Phone (3a) delivers excellent dynamic range. The sample images also reveal an f/1.9 aperture for the main camera and an f/2.5 aperture for the telephoto camera.

Reviewers tested the periscope lens, which supports 3x optical zoom, 6x lossless zoom, and up to 60x ultra zoom. The device can capture macro shots and zoom in up to 6x. Additionally, the video footage demonstrates the phone’s stabilization performance while recording 4K video at 30 frames per second during a bike ride.

Nothing describes the Phone (3a) as a major upgrade over its predecessor, the Nothing Phone (2a), and claims it can compete with top-tier smartphone camera systems. Rumours suggest that the (3a) will include a 2x telephoto camera, while the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro featured in the video—will come with a 3x periscope telephoto camera.

More details are expected in the coming weeks before the phones officially launch on March 4th.
