Nothing Phone (3) launching in India on July 1st with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC
London-based consumer tech brand Nothing has confirmed that its upcoming flagship device, the Nothing Phone (3), will launch on July 1st at an event in London. The phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, marking it as the company’s “first true flagship smartphone.”
The announcement was made by Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing, through a video on the company’s official YouTube channel. In the video, he discussed topics including advancements in over-ear audio, the Essential Space feature, and the R&D efforts behind the Phone (3).
The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is Qualcomm’s latest premium SoC, succeeding last year’s 8s Gen 3. It features an octa-core 5G architecture with a Cortex-X4 prime core clocked at up to 3.2GHz. Pei emphasized that the Phone (3) will deliver a more powerful and responsive experience, boasting:
- 36% faster CPU performance
- 88% stronger GPU
- 60% better NPU compared to Phone (2)
Pei explained,
“We really had to outperform our previous flagship. In practice, it’ll feel much snappier. We aimed for a balanced experience—everything else has improved, so we needed a stronger chip to keep up. Users spend hours with these devices daily, so the goal is to create a truly holistic experience.”
Pei also addressed the over-ear headphone market, calling it “boring” and saturated with similar designs, particularly inspired by Sony’s XM series. He teased the upcoming Nothing Headphone (1), which will debut alongside Phone (3), promising it will bring a fresh and compelling take to the category.
Additionally, Essential Space, a preview feature introduced with the Phone (3a), has seen positive user engagement, with most users interacting with it at least once a week. Further enhancements are expected with the Phone (3)’s launch. You can watch the full announcement video on Nothing’s official YouTube channel.
Nothing Phone (3): What We Know So Far -
Nothing has recently shared several key details about its upcoming Phone (3). In a series of teasers, the company confirmed that the device will not feature Glyph LEDs this time. Instead, the back design will incorporate dot matrix patterns, as hinted in the latest promotional visuals.
Like previous models — Phone (1), Phone (2), and CMF devices — the Phone (3) will be manufactured in India, aligning with the brand’s focus on the Indian market. As for pricing, the 12GB + 256GB variant is expected to retail at USD 799 (approx. ₹68,320), which is $100 more than the corresponding Phone (2) model.
For the first time, Nothing will introduce a 16GB + 512GB version of the phone, replacing the previous 12GB + 512GB option. This higher-end model is rumored to be priced at USD 899 (approx. ₹76,865) — also reflecting a $100 increase.
The official launch event is scheduled for July 1st at 6 PM BST (10:30 PM IST), and will be livestreamed on Nothing’s YouTube channel, as has been the brand’s tradition.
