Nothing Phone (2a) Plus launched in India starting at Rs.27999 with 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz OLED screen, Dimensity 7350 Pro SoC, 50MP front camera
Nothing has launched its latest smartphone, the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus in India, an enhanced version of the Phone (2a) as promised. The new model keeps the 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz OLED screen with up to 1300 nits of peak brightness. It runs on the faster MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro SoC, which reaches up to 3GHz, compared to the 2.8GHz of the previous 7200, making it 10% faster. It also includes a Mali-G610 MC4 GPU clocked up to 1.3 GHz, which is 30% faster than the GPU in the 7200 Pro, providing a benchmark score of over 8.05 lakh AnTuTu.
This model features an advanced liquid cooling system, including a large 3,200 mm² vapor chamber for efficient heat dissipation and a 12,000 mm² cooling area. It comes with up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM, 256GB storage and is based on Android 14 with Nothing OS 2.6, which introduces new functional widgets for the home and lock screens, including swipeable views and animations.
The News Reporter Widget, powered by AI, aggregates daily news in a simple format, with updates read aloud by Nothing CFO Tim Holbrow. This feature is available on all Nothing smartphones through the Nothing Widgets app. The Phone (2a) Plus upgrades to a 50MP front camera with 4K video recording capability, compared to the 32MP front camera in the Phone (2a). It retains the dual 50MP rear cameras for the main and ultra-wide lenses.
The phone features a metallic back with a unique finish achieved through a complex process involving nano-coating, multi-layer printing, and proprietary ink formulations. This meticulous process, involving over 20 manufacturing methods and multiple sampling rounds, results in an exclusive shine.
It retains the glyph LEDs on the back with 3 separations and 26 addressable lighting zones. The Phone (2a) Plus continues with the large 5000mAh battery and now supports 50W PD charging, up from 45W in the Phone (2a), promising a full day’s power from just 20 minutes of charging. The battery is designed to maintain over 90% of its maximum capacity after 1,000 charging cycles, equating to over 3 years of daily use, according to the company.
