The earbuds come with an ultra-slim profile, reducing gaps between parts. The metal antenna has been redesigned with a flat finish and refined to a thickness of just 0.35 mm — the thinnest currently possible in the industry, according to the company.

The charging case is crafted from 100% anodized recycled aluminium, featuring smoother curves, a more ergonomic design, and an all-new Super Mic for enhanced performance.

On the design front, Nothing’s Design Director, Adam Bates, said:

“With Ear (3), we’ve refined our design language by going back to the fundamentals — engineering and user experience. The result is a product that not only looks and feels distinct but also introduces functions entirely new to the industry.
Our choice of materials and processes, especially the use of anodized aluminium in the case structure and earbud antenna, has allowed us to create something fresh while staying true to Nothing’s signature identity.”

Update - Nothing has officially announced that the Nothing Ear (3) TWS earbuds will launch on September 18. The teaser highlights a new curved design for the earbuds.

Earlier - Nothing has begun teasing the launch of its next flagship True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds, the Ear (3), which will succeed last year’s Nothing Ear. After moving to a simplified “Ear” naming format following the Ear (1) and Ear (2), the company is now reverting to the original numbering system based on customer feedback.

“Skipping ahead to Ear (4) would only create confusion, especially for new customers, so we chose the option that delivers the most clarity and consistency,” explained Andrew, Head of Global Smart Products Marketing.

The Ear (3) is rumored to feature notable upgrades, including a dual-driver system commonly found in premium TWS earbuds, enhanced Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), a more natural transparency mode, and improved battery life.

Nothing is also expected to retain its signature transparent design for both the earbuds and the case. A highly requested addition—swipe-based volume controls—may also finally debut with this model.

The launch is expected to take place in late September or early October 2025, with more details likely to surface soon.
