Moto G4 Plus Android 7.0 Nougat update coming soon, soak test begins
Lenovo is getting ready to roll out Android 7.0 Nougat to the Moto G4 Plus. According to a new report, the company has begun a soak test for Nougat update on the G4 Plus in Brazil.
To be a part of the test, Moto G4 Plus owners in Brazil need to be a part of the Motorola Feedback Network and you would need to agree on confidentiality about the soak test. The Nougat update weighs in at 953 MB and brings with it a host of new features including improved Doze mode for better battery life, automatic updates in the background and native multi-window support. Google Assistant would also be making its way to Nougat devices in the very near future.
Earlier this month, Lenovo has listed all the Motorola phones which would be getting Android Nougat updates and given that the Moto G4 series is one of their most recent launches, it was bound to get the update earlier. From what we have seen earlier Motorola generally rolls out the final public build after about 2-3 weeks. So we can expect the update to hit Moto G4 Plus by next month or early December in most regions.
At present, there is no word if the current soak test is being extended to other countries including India, but we will let you know once we get some information on it. It's good to see Lenovo sticking to its word on Android updates for the Moto series, even though their most recent launch - Moto E3 Power - won't be getting any Android Nougat love.
