Xiaomi lets Microsoft test Custom ROMs on its devices, Mi 4 seen running Windows 10

Microsoft has announced that Xiaomi will help test Windows 10 on its devices but is not a partner yet. The Redmond giant will be providing custom ROM's for various Android smartphones to run Windows 10 on them. The Xiaomi Mi 4 is one such handset which will allow Microsoft to gather quick feedback about its new OS.

The Xiaomi Mi 4 can now be seen running Windows 10 for smartphones just after yesterday's announcement. So, it seems Microsoft is well on its way to creating custom ROM's for Android devices. This might just be the kick Windows needs to become relevant again by getting the enthusiast community involved. Making the OS a bit more open would definitely help. But this is a great start. Microsoft under Nadella looks like a brand new company with promise.
