    Microsoft's latest and greatest were revealed yesterday alongwith the final build of Windows 10 for smartphones. The new Lumia 950 XL spearheads Microsoft's ambition of still making in the smartphone space with high-end specs and features to boot. Let's have a closer look at it, shall we.

    The Lumia 950 XL as well as its dual-SIM counterpart run on Windows 10 with a 5.7-inch Quad-HD (2560x1440 Pixels) AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection with Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor taking care of the innards. You have 3GB RAM onboard with 32GB expandable storage here. As with all Lumia flagships, you have a 20MP PureView camera at the back with ZEISS optics, 5th Generation Optical Image Stabilization to reduce shake and optimize low-light performance. There is a triple-LED flash at the back for color correction and optimal brightness, alongwith a 5MP wide-angle front-facing camera for great looking selfies.

    Microsoft has also packed in a large 3340mAh battery with fast charging over the USB Type-C port. You can charge the phone up to 50% in just 30 minutes alongwith support for Qi Wireless charging with a flip-cover. Then there's Liquid Cooling to keep the innards cool, which Microsoft hasn't detailed much about. Then there's Continuum which gives a PC like experience with the Lumia 950 XL, using the Microsoft Display Dock and a connected external monitor alongwith a keyboard and mouse.

    Connectivity options haven't been left out either, you have 4G LTE support, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, FM Radio. There are four microphones on this device for Lumia Rich Recording, for distortion free stereo audio recording. The Lumia 950 XL and the Lumia 950 XL come in just black and white colors, a departure from previous Lumia smartphones starting at $649 (about Rs. 42,000.) It will be going on sale starting November in select markets.
