Micromax to bring mobile payments revolution in India in partnership with TranServ and Visa
Micromax is gearing up to become more than just a smartphone vendor in India, and has announced partnership with TranServ and Visa to bring next-gen mobile payment solutions to India.
Off-late Micromax has been diving head-on into the services sector and we may see some major announcements on the April 13th event. For now, the company plans to bring digital payment products to the masses with the help of its two new partners.
Users of Micromax smartphones will be able to use smartphone based Push Payments using mVisa alongwith payments on several eCommerce sites, alongwith transferring money to contacts easily. With this partnership Micromax also aims to bring contactless payments through NFC in India.
The next part is a digital wallet, which will be provided via the Udio app from TranServ. This wallet allows for payment using Visa cards for both online and offline purchases.
It seems Micromax is keen on beating Samsung, in introducing Mobile Payments in India, which would truly bring a hassle free experience to the customer. With NFC and fingerprint sensors becoming common on even budget smartphones, there is s huge opportunity in this untapped offline mobile payments space in India.
