LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition announced, first Android Wear smartwatch with LTE
LG wasn't done with announcements today, first we had the new V10 smartphone with a secondary display, premium build and now, the new LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition.
The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition is the first Android Wear smartwatch with LTE making it a truly un-tethered smartwatch. The resolution has also been bumped to 480x480 pixels for the 1.38-inch P-OLED display giving it a pixel-density of 348 PPI alongwith Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. GPS has also been added for good measure giving the watch better health/fitness monitoring capabilities alongwith the PPG heart-rate sensor.
This one is compatible with iOS as well, but some of the LTE features including voice might not be available on all Android and iOS devices. The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition runs on the tried and tested Snapdragon 400 processor but with 768MB RAM, 4GB storage and a larger 570 mAh battery. LG has used 316L stainless steel casing here with a hypoallergenic band moreover its IP67 rated for dust and water resistance, capable of being immersed in water upto 1m for 30 minutes without any damage.
So, rounding up the connectivity department we have 4G LTE/3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS. Again there are plenty color options to choose from including Space Black, Opal Black, Luxe White and Signature Brown colors. The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition will go on sale later in October starting with the US and Korea, followed by Europe, Asia, CIS and the Middle East.
