LG Q8 with Quad HD Display and Dual Rear Cameras Launched in Korea
LG had launched the smaller version of the V20, called the LG Q8 in Italy last month but they didn’t reveal the pricing of the device.
On Thursday, the company conducted an event in South Korea, in which they announced the price for Q8 - KRW 616,000 (around Rs. 34950 or $550). They also stated that it will come in two colors; Urban Titan and Sweet Pink.
Essentially the LG Q8 is a smaller version of the V20. It too features a secondary display above the main screen and a dual camera setup on the back.
It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with LG UX 5.0 running on top of it. When it comes to specifications, the display is a Quad HD IPS LCD panel with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 covering it. The secondary screen has a resolution of 140x 1040 pixels. Inside we get the Snapdragon 820 chipset coupled with 4 GB RAM. There's 32 GB of onboard storage, which can further be expanded up to 2 TB using an external SD card. The dual camera on the back features a 13 MP and an 8 MP sensor. On the front, you get a 5MP selfie camera. All this is powered by a 3000 mAh battery which is removable and a fingerprint sensor on the back as well.
The device also features an IP67 splash protection. Meaning, it can withstand occasional splashes but cannot be submerged in water. At present, there is no word on whether it will be available in India.
