LeEco LeMax 2 launched with Snapdragon 820, 6GB RAM
LeEco went all-out today with the launch of 3 new smartphones. The Le 2, Le 2 Pro and the subject of this article, the LeMax 2. There's one thing common in all three smartphones, they don't have a 3.5mm audio jack, and instead route audio through the USB Type-C port. You can read more about that here.
LeEco LeMax 2
The Le Max 2 comes with a 5.7-inch Quad-HD (2560x1440 Pixels) display running on a Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor. Even with a 0.2-inch larger display than the iPhone 6s Plus, the LeMax 2 is about 1.4mm smaller in height.
Coming back to specs, the phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow based EUI 5.8 with a choice of either 32GB or 64GB of storage. Its the 64GB variant that comes with 6GB of RAM while the 32GB variant makes do with "just" 4GB.
The rear camera uses a 21MP sensor from Sony, the IMX230 with optical image stabilization, f/2.0 aperture and the ability to capture 4K videos. There's an 8MP selfie camera here too. LeEco is also using the new Ultrasonic Fingerprint sensor technology from Qualcomm which allows for more accurate results as well as the ability to recognize fingerprints even if there is dirt or grime on the sensor.
QuickCharge 3.0 also comes standard on both variants via the USB Type-C port on the device and you also have dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE support, Dual-band WiFi ac, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS.
Pricing and Availability
The LeEco LeMax 2 comes in at 2099 Yuan (about Rs. 21500 or $320) for the 4GB RAM, 32GB storage variant while the 6GB RAM, 64GB storage variant will set you back by 2299 Yuan (about Rs. 23500 and $356).
