HUAWEI Mate X6 launched with 7.93-inch foldable and 6.45-inch outer 120Hz LTPO display, 48MP periscope telephoto camera, IPX8 ratings
HUAWEI has launched its latest foldable smartphone, the HUAWEI Mate X6 during an event in China, as they promised. The device features a 7.93-inch foldable OLED display with a peak brightness of 1800 nits and a 6.45-inch external OLED screen with an impressive 2500 nits peak brightness. Both displays support 1-120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate and 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming for smoother visuals and reduced flicker.
The phone incorporates a distributed basalt architecture, enhancing signal strength, reliability, and heat dissipation. It debuts the Star Flash shutdown feature with precise positioning and is built with second-generation basalt-tempered Kunlun glass, a carbon fiber inner screen support layer, a robust wing aluminum body frame, a new basalt water-drop hinge, and ultra-high thermal conductivity graphene materials.
For photography, the Mate X6 boasts a 50MP main camera with a variable f/1.4-f/4.0 aperture, OIS, and RYYB sensor, accompanied by a 40MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 48MP 4x periscope telephoto camera with OIS. It also features a 1.5MP red maple primary colour camera with 5cm telephoto macro capability. Both the internal and external displays house 8MP front-facing cameras.
In a groundbreaking move, the collector’s edition includes triple-network satellite communication, making it the first mass-market smartphone to support this feature, slated for public testing in late 2025. With an IPX8 rating for water resistance, the Mate X6 is powered by a 5110mAh battery in the standard model and a 5200mAh battery in the collector’s edition. Both variants support 66W wired and 50W wireless charging.

The HUAWEI Mate X6 comes in Obsidian Black, Cosmic Red, Deep Sea Blue, Nebula White, and Nebula Gray colours. It will be available from December 6th in China, and the pre-order has started now.
