HUAWEI FreeBuds 6 launched with 11mm dual drivers, semi-open design, Battery Life up to 36Hrs
HUAWEI has expanded its True Wireless Stereo (TWS) lineup with the launch of the FreeBuds 6 in China, introduced alongside the HUAWEI Pura X foldable smartphone. Designed with a distinctive water-drop shape and a semi-open fit, the FreeBuds 6 were developed using extensive human ear data to ensure comfort. The ear stem is 12% smaller, and each earbud is 9% lighter, weighing just 4.9 grams, while the charging case weighs 40.3 grams. HUAWEI emphasizes that non-slip earmuffs enhance stability and fit.
The FreeBuds 6 feature a three-separation design, housing independent acoustic, control, and battery systems. They include an 11mm four-magnet dynamic driver and a micro-flat tweeter, delivering audio with frequencies ranging from 14Hz for deep bass to 48kHz for crisp highs, powered by Bass Turbo technology. HUAWEI claims these are the industry's first semi-open dual-unit earbuds, ensuring clear treble, mid-range, and bass.
For high-quality audio transmission, the earbuds support 2.3 Mbps lossless audio at 48 kHz/24-bit and are certified with HWA Lossless and Hi-Res Wireless. Their ultra-wideband real-time hearing optimization adjusts frequencies between 50Hz and 2kHz based on ear shape, fit, and volume.
Tuned by experts from the Central Conservatory of Music, the FreeBuds 6 offer classical and balanced sound modes. They also support head-tracking spatial audio, enhancing immersion when paired with the HUAWEI Music app’s spatial audio library.
For calls, a bone conduction microphone and multi-channel noise reduction filter out up to 95 dB of background noise and handle wind speeds of up to 8m/s. This ensures clear voice quality even in noisy environments like parties or construction sites. Additionally, the semi-open light noise reduction feature minimizes ambient sounds in settings like offices, cafés, and public squares.

The FreeBuds 6 offers up to 36 hours of battery life with the charging case, while a quick 5-minute charge via USB-C provides 2.5 hours of playback. Smart charging adapts to user habits, extending battery lifespan by 37%, according to HUAWEI.
