HTC Bolt said to feature Snapdragon 810 and a 5.5-inch Quad-HD Display
Although not much is known about HTC's first Android 7.0 smartphone, but if a leak has to be believed, the HTC Bolt may come with a 5.5-inch Quad-HD display running on the Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor from last year.
So, instead of going with the current-gen Snapdragon 820, 821 HTC has opted to go with the SD810 which was plagued with heating issues. The new report comes from reliable leaker LlabTooFer who has been known to be very accurate when it comes to HTC.
From what we have seen and heard before about the HTC Bolt, it would drop the 3.5mm headphone jack in favor of USB Type-C audio similar to what Motorola did with the Moto Z. Coming to specs rumors point to 3GB RAM with 64GB storage which would be expandable with a microSD card slot and an 18MP rear camera.
All this sounds fine, but using the Snapdragon 810 on a new phone in 2016 is just confusing given the thermal issues of the chipset and superior performance of even mid-range alternatives like the Snapdragon 652. But what can we expect from a company which is still launching phones with 3-year-old processors (Snapdragon 400).
