Samsung announces Galaxy S7/S7 Edge exchange option for Note 7 pre-bookings in India and free Gear VR
Samsung now just wants to put the past behind them and to start with they have apologized to customers who pre-booked the Galaxy Note 7 in India. The company is now offering the Galaxy S7/S7 Edge instead of the Note 7 to Indian buyers who had earlier pre-booked the phone.
Along with the S7/S7 Edge that you decide to go with, Samsung will ship the new Gear VR and the Level U Bluetooth wireless headset for free. That's not all, they are also offering Oculus VR content worth Rs. 3300 ($50) to make use of the VR headset with your new Galaxy. The company clearly wants to keep customers who liked the Note 7 within the family.
In addition to the freebies, Samsung is also offering One Time Screen Replacement for free on the Galaxy S7 smartphone you buy within 12 months of purchase.
To avail the offer, you need to visit the retailer from where you pre-booked the Note 7. However, if you don't want to buy a new Galaxy then you can also opt for a full refund of the amount you paid.
Indian customers had been up in arms against Samsung India for not talking much about the delayed shipments earlier and now refunds. The new offer should calm everyone down. This is just the first hurdle though, but this generous step will go a long way in mending customer relationship with the brand.
