First look at Flipkart Billion Capture+ smartphone with dual cameras, available November 15
Flipkart is gearing up to launch their own smartphone in India, the Billion Capture+. It will be available starting November 15.
The Flipkart Billion Capture+ is Made in India and according to the company, has been built keeping in mind the usage patterns on Indians. The company has even gone to say that they have kept into account the reviews people leave for smartphones on their platform, to build their first smartphone.
Coming to specifications, the Billion Capture+ packs a 5.5-inch full-HD display with 401 PPI pixel density and 2.5D Dragontrail glass on top. Under the hood, it packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 mobile platform, which we have already seen on several smartphones in the segment, including the Redmi Note 4 and Moto G5s Plus.
There are two variants of the smartphone, one with 3GB RAM / 32GB internal storage, and another with 4 GB RAM / 64 GB internal storage. You will be able to expand storage on both variants up to 128GB.
Flipkart too is focusing on cameras with its first phone. The Billion Capture+ features a dual camera setup on the rear. It has two 13 MP cameras, one with an RGB sensor and another with monochrome/black & white. The monochrome second camera will be used to improve contrast and details in the image taken with the RGB sensor. Moreover, you will also have bokeh/background blur/portrait mode available here along with a 'super night mode' which is said to enhance low light photography by allowing twice as much light.
The Billion Capture+ (Capture Plus) promises 2 days of use with its 3500 mAh battery which also support Quick Charge over its USB Type-C port. The company says you will get 7 hours of use with just a 15-minute charge. It has not been specified whether you will get the fast charger within the box or not.
It runs on stock Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box, and Flipkart is also offering a guaranteed update to Android Oreo. Although there is no word on when we can expect that. You will also get unlimited cloud storage with the phone, however, we haven't heard any specifics on this.
