Asus Zenfone Zoom with 3X Optical Zoom launching in India this month

Asus is finally bringing its camera centric smartphone to India first. Just at the heels of CES 2016 the Asus Zenfone Zoom is expected to launch in India. The camera focused smartphone comes with a 13MP rear camera which supports 3X optical zoom, optical image stabilization and can go from f/2.7 to f/4.8 aperture. Then there's laser assisted auto-focus alongwith real-tone flash at the back as well. Not to forget, you also have a 5MP front-facing camera here.

Coming to hardware specifications, the Asus Zenfone Zoom runs on the same hardware as the original Zenfone 2, so you have the Intel Atom Z3580 or Z3590 processor with PowerVR graphics running the show. There's 4GB RAM onboard with either 64-128GB expandable storage and dual-SIM 4G LTE support.

The 3000 mAh battery which supports fast charging through Asus BoostMaster tech could be non-removable. Other connectivity options include dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS as well as NFC.

Pricing and Availability

At present there is no concrete word on either, but if we had to venture a guess the Zenfone Zoom would be priced around Rs. 26,000 in India, given international pricing cues. The company has confirmed though that the Zenfone Zoom would be coming to India in January, so that's something to look out for. We will be keeping an eye on the Zenfone from Asus, stay tuned.
