Asus Zenfone GO launched in India with 5-inch HD display priced at Rs. 7999
Asus showed us the Zenfone GO at its ZenFestival, but didn't say anything about its pricing and availability. Well, today the company has officially launched the Zenfone GO in India priced at Rs. 7999.
The Zenfone GO is the first Asus smartphone running on a MediaTek processor, namely the MT6580 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 2GB RAM, 8GB expandable storage. It has a 5-inch 720p HD display up front, 2070 mAh battery inside with Android 5.1 Lollipop based ZenUI running the show. We wen't hands-on with the GO at the ZenFestival, you can have a look at it below.
Sadly, the Zenfone GO is a 3G dual-SIM smartphone, which is quite a disappointment with the growing crop of good 4G LTE devices available within this price bracket including the Lenovo A6000 Plus, Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime among others. Other connectivity options include WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and FM Radio.
Asus Zenfone Go ZC500TG Specs and Photos
For shutterbugs, you have a 8MP rear and 2MP front cameras here. If we talk about the design and looks of the device, its like Asus just replaced the Intel internals of the original Zenfone 5 with MediaTek and repackaged it as the Zenfone GO. Right from the placement of the buttons, to the overall design is what we have already seen with previous Zenfone iterations.
Although we've never had any issues with the build quality of Asus devices, this is asking a bit of premium for a 3G smartphone with MediaTek internals. If you still want to have a look at the device, it will be available through Flipkart, Asus exclusive retail outlets and other retail stores throughout India starting today at Rs. 7999 for the 8GB storage variant in three color options: Black, White or Red.
