Asus launches mid-range variant of Zenfone 3 Deluxe with 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 625
Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe will now be available in a mid-range avatar with a smaller 5.5-inch display and Snapdragon 625 innards similar to the normal Zenfone 3.
The new Zenfone 3 Deluxe (ZS550KL) variant comes with 4GB RAM, 64GB onboard storage, has a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS+ display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The back f the phone is still made of metal with invisible antenna loop design.
It possibly uses the same 16MP f/2.0 rear camera as the Zenfone 3 Sony IMX298 sensor capable of recording 4K videos alongwith a f/2.0 8MP front camera. All this is powered by a 3000 mAh battery which supports Quick Charge 3.0. Connectivity options include dual-SIM 4G LTE support, dual-band WiFiac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and FM radio.
It runs on Android Marshmallow out of the box. Essentially the new Zenfone 3 Deluxe is the glass Zenfone 3 in a metal body. At present there is no word on pricing, but according to the source its already available in some regions.
The Zenfone 3 Deluxe was previously only available with Snapdragon 820 or Snapdragon 821. In-fact it was the first smartphone to run on the upgraded Snapdragon 821 processor that too with 256GB onboard storage and 6GB RAM. It also has a larger 23MP camera on the back compared to 16MP on the 5.5-inch variant and the AMOLED diaplay has been replaced by an IPS+ panel.
