XOLO Q1200 Benchmarks, Performance comparison
The XOLO Q1200 comes with a 5-inch 720p IPS display, 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 chipset with 1 GB RAM running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with a promised update to KitKat. The Q1200 has a premium metallic build and comes with dual speakers at the back with SRS support. The Q1200 is a single SIM device but memory is expandable to 32 GB. AnTuTu Benchmark Comparison
The XOLO Q1200 scored 16708 on AnTuTu which is a bit lower than the competing Moto G, XOLO Q1010i and the Q2500.
NenaMark 2 Benchmark Comparison
The NenaMark 2 score of the Q1200 was even more disappointing and it just managed to get 49.8 which is again the lowest of the bunch. But we'll see in our gaming review how it actually performs.
Quadrant Benchmark Comparison
On Quadrant we got a score of 5979 which too is nothing to write home about and you can see that in the comparison as well.
Vellamo HTML5 Benchmark Comparison
We got 2190 on the HTML5 chapter of Vellamo which is a good score and the highest in the bunch which is a little surprising. It seems that web-browsing is more optimized than processor usage and graphics.
Vellamo Metal Benchmark Comparison
On Metal we again got a low score of 463 which is comparable with dual-core alternatives and not the MT6582 SoC powering the Q1200.
Linpack Single-thread Benchmark Comparison
Here we got 86.07 which is a rather decent score.
Linpack Multi-thread Benchmark Comparison
While on the multi-thread score the Q1200 got 233.93 which again is a good score, meaning there is definitely something in the OS that is keeping the performance in check.
Multi-touch Test
The XOLO Q1200 has a 5-point multi-touch display and this has become the norm in this segment.
Conclusion
The Q1200 on paper looks like an excellent device with good specs for the price. It is being promoted as a more smart smartphone with gesture support and voice command support but in terms of performance it is lagging behind XOLO's own offerings like the Q1010i and the Q2500 as well as the current segment leader Moto G. Although these are synthetic benchmarks, in real use there is no lag while using the phone. The touch response too remains excellent and the display is the best part of the device.
