Xiaomi Redmi 2 prices slashed in India, now available for just Rs. 5999 in both white and grey colors
Xiaomi today cut the price of the Redmi 2 by Rs. 1000 and its now available at the new price of Rs. 5999 in both white and grey colors over at mi.com/in, as well as Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal as well as retail outlets of the Mobile Store & Airtel. We called it yesterday, given that the prices have reduced in China as well for the Redmi 2.
The Redmi 2 is still one of the best budget smartphones available in the market and at this price its a steal. Its compact, light, performs well, has good cameras and a vibrant display. Xiaomi has always insisted that as the prices of parts reduce, they pass on the savings to the customers. We have seen it with the Redmi Note 4G and Mi 4 as well. You can watch our Redmi 2 review above, and its gaming review below.
Coming to specs the Redmi 2 has a 4.7-inch HD IPS OGS display, quad-core Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor with dual-SIM 4G LTE support, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal expandable storage, 8MP/2MP cameras running Android 4.4 KitKat with MIUI 6 on top. There's a 2200 mAh battery with QuickCharge 1.0 support baked in.
Its predecessor, the Redmi 1S too got its Android 4.4 KitKat based MIUI 6 update yesterday.
