Xiaomi gearing up to launch Redmi 3 variant with fingerprint sensor
A Xiaomi Redmi 3 variant just got certified by TENAA in China, it sports similar specifications as the Redmi 3 which was launched earlier but comes with a fingerprint sensor at the back similar to the Redmi Note 3 which was launched in India last week. It seems to have the same metal build with a checkered pattern at the back, with the only new addition being the fingerprint sensor.

The listing says that the battery is now a 3000 mAh unit, down from 4000 mAh in the original Redmi 3. At present there is no word on pricing or availability, but general consensus is that it would be released in China within a couple of weeks as the Redmi 3 Prime or Redmi 3 Pro.
