Xiaomi 15 Ultra Camera Specs Surfaced Online with 50MP Sony IMX858 Camera, New 200MP 4.3X periscope Telephoto Camera

Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro smartphones in China last month and is now preparing to introduce the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, the flagship model in the series. Recently, camera specifications for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra have surfaced, courtesy of Leaker Digital Chat Station.

Camera Enhancements -

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is rumoured to feature a 50MP 1/2.51″ Sony IMX858, a 70mm 3X telephoto camera that doesn’t crop images. Additionally, its dual telephoto lenses are expected to support a telephoto macro function, which may include a new photography handle accessory.

Previous rumors also suggested a 50MP 23mm f/1.6 main camera with an extended physical focal length and a new custom hardware module, surpassing the previous generation’s 8.7mm focal length.

Furthermore, the device is expected to include a 200MP 4.3X periscope telephoto camera with an f/2.6 aperture and a 1/1.4″ Samsung HP9 sensor, similar to the one in the Vivo X200 Pro. It’s also likely to retain a 50MP ultra-wide camera and use a Leica Summilux lens.

Battery and Display -

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, equipped with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and may come with a 6000mAh battery—an upgrade from the 5300mAh battery in its predecessor but slightly smaller than the 6100mAh battery in the Xiaomi 15 Pro. It’s expected to retain the 2K quad-curved display from the Xiaomi 15 Pro.

Launch Timeline -

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is anticipated to debut in China in January 2025, with a global launch possibly scheduled for MWC in March 2025.
