Selfie-focused Vivo V7+ launching in India on September 9
Vivo has started sending invites for the launch of the V7+ in India. The company has been expanding its ‘V’ series smartphone lineup and this too would cater to selfie-lovers.
Not much is known about the Vivo V7+ as yet. Nonetheless, the invite hints at the design. The picture on the invite shows a bezel-less screen with thin chins on the top and bottom. We can’t spot a home button on the front either. Most probably, they will go with on-screen buttons along with the fingerprint scanner on the back of the device. The invite also includes a tagline that implies the focus would be on the selfie camera.
According to our sources, the V7+ could be a refinement over the Vivo X9S, which the company launched earlier in China. It features a 5.5-inch full HD display. Underneath the hood, the Snapdragon 652 processor coupled with 4 GB of RAM to power the device. Moreover, the smartphone provides us with 64 GB of internal storage and expandability.
When it comes to the selfie camera, the Vivo X9S has two of them. The primary selfie camera sensor is 20 MP that is accompanied by a secondary 5MP sensor. On the back, we get a 16 MP camera and an LED flashlight for low light photography.
What seems confusing is the placement of the fingerprint scanner. While the picture with the event invite clearly shows there is no home button thus the fingerprint scanner, the X9S sports it on the front panel. Are they going to release a smartphone with the scanner embedded right under the screen? Though we have got no reason to think so about this phone, Vivo has already showcased a smartphone with the fingerprint sensor embedded below the display.
At present, there is no word on price, but the Vivo V7+ is expected to be priced at Rs. 25000 in India.
