Twitter drops 140 character limit for Direct Messages

Twitter has finally got rid of its 140 character limit for Direct Messages. Twitterati can now send DM's upto 10,000 characters on the Web, Android and iOS. Twitter for Mac and TweetDeck have also been updated to allow for more than 140 characters in Direct Messages.

At present there are more than 316 Million active Twitter users but its user-base has become stagnant. The micro-blogging platform has been working on several features to attract new users, earlier this year Twitter also rolled out group direct messaging for upto 20 people at a time.
