Skype calling suffers global outage, still recuperating

If you were trying to call your friends over Skype and it didn't go through, you are not the only one. Microsoft's Skype Call and Messaging service is suffering from a major global outage which has now extended to hours.

Skype said that they are aware of the issue which is affecting the service in a number of ways. For us contacts are showing offline, meaning no voice calls even though we know our contacts are online. We are also hearing that Group messages are not going through to some contacts.

Moreover, if you aren't signed into Skype right now, you won't be able to. Even signed users won't be able to change their status, profile pictures or their online status.

Although Skype Support is on it and we should have a resolution soon, till then we have hangouts:
