Samsung Galaxy A16 5G launched with 6.7-inch FHD+ 90Hz AMOLED display, Exynos 1330 SoC, 6 OS updates
Samsung has quietly launched its latest mid-range A series smartphone, the Galaxy A16 5G in Europe, succeeding last year's A15 5G. It features a slightly larger 6.7-inch FHD+ 90Hz Super AMOLED display with a notch and returns to the Exynos 1330 SoC, moving away from the previous Dimensity 6100+ chipset.
The camera setup remains the same as its predecessor, with a 50MP main camera, 5MP ultra-wide lens, 2MP macro camera, and a 13MP front camera. It runs on Android 14 with One UI 6, and notably, it’s the first mid-range Samsung phone to receive 6 OS updates and 6 years of security updates, supported until October 31, 2030.
The 3.5mm audio jack has been removed, and the phone still lacks stereo speakers. It is powered by a 5000mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging, though the charger is sold separately.
