REDMI K100 launched with 6.83-inch 1.5K 165Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, 10000mAh battery

Xiaomi has officially launched its latest smartphone in the K100 series, the REDMI K100 in China, following its earlier announcement. The new smartphone focuses on sustained performance, a high-refresh-rate display, and a substantial battery designed for extended usage.

Design and Display

The REDMI K100 features a 6.83-inch flat display with ultra-narrow bezels. Its construction includes a 1.3mm metal middle frame with rounded edges for a more comfortable grip. The rear panel houses a flat metal camera module designed to minimize interference when using the phone horizontally. The device is available in three color options: Black, Snow White, and Firefly Green.

The display offers a 1.5K resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits. Eye protection features include full-brightness DC dimming, circularly polarized light technology, and Xiaomi's Green Mountain Eye Protection 4.0.

Processing Hardware and Gaming

The REDMI K100 is powered by Qualcomm's 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platform, which uses the Oryon CPU architecture with two super cores and six performance cores. It is paired with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage for high-speed memory and data access.

For enhanced gaming performance, the standard model incorporates Xiaomi's dedicated D2 gaming display chip. According to the company, the device supports native gameplay at up to 165fps in more than 40 titles. It also enables simultaneous super-resolution and frame interpolation in over 100 popular games, aiming to improve visual quality while maintaining thermal efficiency.

Battery, Charging, and Cameras

The smartphone packs a 10,000mAh Xiaomi Jinshajiang battery. Based on Xiaomi Labs' standard Day of Use (DOU) testing, the battery can deliver up to 2.43 days of use on a single charge. Charging options include 100W wired fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging for compatible accessories. The phone also supports bypass charging, which helps reduce heat buildup when gaming while connected to a charger.

For photography, the REDMI K100 features a 50MP high-dynamic-range main rear camera. Security is handled by an under-display 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.

Operating System

The REDMI K100 runs Xiaomi's Surge OS 4, which brings a redesigned desktop interface intended to improve app launch times and overall system responsiveness. The software also incorporates optimized background processes to reduce standby power consumption, dynamic memory allocation based on usage requirements, and integration with the Super Xiao Ai 2.0 digital assistant.

The smartphone is now available for pre-order in China, with sales set to begin on October 31. The company is also offering a special discount during the initial sale period.
