Realme Neo8 confirmed to launch on January 22 with 165Hz Samsung Sky Display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC

Realme has officially confirmed the launch of its next smartphone in the Neo series, the realme Neo8 in China on January 22, following a series of teasers.

Earlier this week, the company revealed that the device will become the world’s first smartphone to feature a 165Hz Samsung Sky Display, using M14 luminescent material. The screen will support native 165FPS gaming modes for titles such as CrossFire: Mobile, Delta Force, and Peacekeeper Elite.

The display will also introduce “Green Field Eye Protection” technology with full-brightness DC dimming. Unlike PWM-based dimming, this method alternates brightness only once per frame, making it easier on the eyes. With an SVM value as low as 0.05, the panel is said to be virtually flicker-free even at full brightness.

In addition, the screen supports hardware-level low blue light protection, has received TÜV Rheinland flicker-free certification, and includes an automatic color temperature adjustment feature similar to Apple’s True Tone, which adapts the display’s color temperature to match ambient lighting conditions.

realme has already confirmed the phone’s design, which features a transparent RGB look along with the return of the brand’s iconic Awakening Halo element.

The company has also confirmed that the Neo8 will runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. Meanwhile, leaked specifications suggest the phone will feature a 6.71-inch 1.5K LTPO quad-curved display with up to a 165Hz refresh rate, up to 24GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of storage. Camera-wise, it is expected to sport a triple rear setup with 50MP + 50MP + 200MP sensors offering 3.7x zoom, along with a 50MP front camera. Other reported features include a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, an IP69K rating, and a 7,200mAh battery with support for 120W wired and 80W wireless fast charging.
