Qualcomm will launch new Snapdragon X series chip at IFA 2024 on September 4th

Qualcomm recently launched the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 SoC for sub-$100 phones at the "Snapdragon for India" event on July 30th. They also officially launched Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus products for the Indian market, announcing several partners.

At the end of the event, Kedar Kondap, SVP and GM of Compute and Gaming at Qualcomm, hinted at exciting developments expected at the Qualcomm press conference during IFA 2024 in Berlin. The conference is scheduled for September 4th at 1 PM CET. Qualcomm is anticipated to reveal new SKUs in the X Elite and X Plus categories, potentially boosting adoption among PC OEMs across various price points. Currently, there are four SKUs in the compute lineup featuring the Oryon CPU, with the X1E-78-100 being particularly popular among OEMs.

The Snapdragon X Plus was introduced earlier this year, while the X Elite was announced last year. Intel is also preparing to launch its 'Lunar Lake' mobile CPU at its IFA event on September 3rd, aiming to compete with the Snapdragon X series. AMD's Strix Point Ryzen AI 300-based products are also set to debut next month.

Qualcomm’s IFA 2024 event will start on September 4th at 1 PM CET (4:30 PM IST), with further details expected to be revealed in the coming months.
