Oppo K3 with pop-up front camera launching on 23 May
OPPO today announced the launch date for its upcoming mid-range smartphone, the Oppo K3. The successor to the Oppo K1 comes with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 91.1% screen-to-body ratio.
The Oppo K3 runs on the new Snapdragon 710 SoC with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. It comes with in-display fingerprint scanner, which is expected to be faster than the previous generation.
In terms of camera, in the front you get a 16-megapixel pop-up selfie camera that lifts in 0.74 seconds. Oppo further added that the pop-up mechanism has been tested over 200,000 times. Just to bring that into perspective, even if you open the popup selfie camera 30 times a day, it will last for approximately 18 years without fault. Tall claims aside, we would have to see how it performs in everyday use.
According to the leaked renders, the K3 will come with a 16MP primary rear camera and a 2MP depth sensor on the back for bokeh. The OPPO K3 is expected to come in White, Green and Purple colors.
There is no official news about its India launch, but we do know it eventually will makes its way here after its China debut on May 23.
