Oppo A71 Launched, 3GB RAM, 5.5-inch display priced at Rs. 12990

Oppo has launched a mid-range smartphone in India, the Oppo A71. The new smartphone is now on sale exclusively via Flipkart online for Rs. 12,990. You can also buy one from offline stores.

The Oppo A71 sports a 5.5-inch TFT HD display. With a unibody design, it has the dimension of 148.1mm x 73.8mm x 7.6mm. Under the hood, it features a MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. It also has 3 GB RAM and 16 GB onboard storage (can be expanded up to 256 GB). All these are powered by a 3000 mAh battery.

Oppo is known for their focus on the selfie cameras. However, A71 is an exception. It only has a 5 MP front camera. On the back, there's a 13-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF. It is capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps.

The phone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with Oppo’s own ColorOS 3.1 on top of it. The company says the smartphone supports fast charging. It is available in Black and Gold color options.

If you compare the Oppo A71 with other smartphones at the same price range, you will find it doesn't quite stand out in terms of features or specs. The Redmi Note 4, Xiaomi Mi A1, and Moto G5S (and G5S Plus) come under the same sub 15k segment, with either large batteries or dual cameras. The A71 is far more basic for this price point and apart from looks & design, doesn't have much going for it.
