OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei calls out Flipkart on its OnePlus 3 listing, says we are an Amazon exclusive (Update: Official Statement)
Well, this was awkward. After we broke the news on OnePlus 3 coming to Flipkart for less than Rs. 20000 on its Big Shopping days, a few of our readers reached out to Carl Pei, OnePlus co-founder to see why they were moving to Flipkart from Amazon. To everyone's surprise, Carl Pei had no idea about Flipkart getting OnePlus 3 stock and said they may be second-hand units.
Later he called out Sachin Bansal from Flipkart on this stunt saying that OnePlus was an Amazon exclusive. Even now, on Flipkart, the soft-gold OnePlus 3 is listed as coming soon priced at Rs. 27,999 but there is no mention of the units being refurbished or used. Some discounts are also shown there including 5% off on Axis bank credit cards, EMI as low as Rs. 1358 and so on. At the time of writing, there has been no response to Carl Pei's tweet from Flipkart or Sachin Bansal. PhoneBunch has reached out to Flipkart for an answer.
OnePlus 3 was launched earlier this year packing the Snapdragon 820 processor with 6GB RAM, one of the first phones to do so. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display running Android Marshmallow with 64 GB internal storage, 16 MP rear camera and 3000 mAh battery. The company also recently launched the OnePlus 3T, an upgraded variant with Snapdragon 821, 128GB storage option and larger battery. Both phones are still available on Amazon India.
