OnePlus 3 and 3T Android Oreo Update with Oxygen OS 5.0 now rolling out
OnePlus has released Android Oreo update for the OnePlus 3 and 3T. It comes wrapped in OxygenOS 5.0, and adds a lot more new features including parallel apps, picture-in-picture mode, new quick settings UI and a lot more.
With Parallel apps, you can now run the same app with two different accounts. So you can have two WhatsApp and two Facebook accounts on the same phone. Moreover, you also get the brilliant picture-in-picture mode with Oreo, which brings true multitasking to Android in the form of floating windows.
Android 8.0 Oreo also brings improvements in the sphere of battery management by adding limits on background activity of apps. You can also now snooze notifications for apps, which would then arrive later at after the chosen duration. The new 1.5GB update includes the September security patch, considering that we are almost at the tail end of November, it seems like an odd choice.
Coming to the launcher, it has got the new notification dots to let you know which app has an unread notification. App folders have been redesigned as well.
The Android Oreo update for the OnePlus 3 and 3T is being rolled out gradually and will be available to all customers within the next 2 weeks. OnePlus 5 Oreo update is said to arrive by early 2018, along with the OnePlus 5T. Open beta testing will begin in December.
