Nubia Fold and Flip3 launched in Japan with dual OLED foldable displays, Snapdragon 8 Elite/Dimensity 7400X SoC
Nubia has launched its new foldable smartphones, the nubia Fold and nubia Flip3 in Japan. The nubia Fold features dual OLED displays—an 8-inch main screen (2,480 × 2,200) and a 6.5-inch cover display (2,748 × 1,172). When folded, the device is 11.1 mm thick, weighs 249 grams, and comes with IPX4 water resistance and IP5X dust protection. It supports half-open multitasking, enabling both screens to function independently.
Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, paired with 12 GB of RAM and a 6,560 mAh battery with 55 W fast charging. The rear camera system includes a 50 MP main lens, a 50 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5 MP macro camera. On the front, it offers a 20 MP primary selfie camera along with a 20 MP cover camera. AI enhancements assist in night mode, portraits, group photos, and automatic image correction.
AI capabilities can be triggered with a 0.5-second press of the power button, and the company says additional features may arrive via future FOTA updates. The nubia Fold also includes a suite of AI-powered tools for everyday tasks, such as:
- AI Call Assist
- AI Simultaneous Interpretation for real-time translation and subtitles
- AI Writing for generating text
- AI Face Sticker for privacy masking
- Eraser Magic for removing unwanted objects
- AI Gaming Space for optimizing performance and minimizing interruptions during gameplay

The nubia Flip3 features a 6.9-inch OLED main display (2,790 × 1,188) with a 120 Hz refresh rate, paired with a 4.0-inch OLED outer sub-display (1,200 × 1,092). The device weighs around 187 grams and comes with a reinforced aluminum frame. Its dimensions are 170 × 76 × 7.5 mm when open and 87 × 76 × 15.9 mm when folded.
Built for longevity, the Flip3 supports up to 300,000 folds and uses a third-generation high-strength hinge. It also offers IPX4 water resistance and IP5X dust protection. Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 7400X chipset, coupled with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. A 4,610 mAh battery provides all-day endurance.
The phone includes a dual rear camera setup with a 50 MP wide lens and a 12 MP ultra-wide lens, while the front houses a 32 MP selfie camera. Gesture controls enable hands-free photo capture, and the Neovision AI Camera optimizes motion, zoom, and scene enhancements automatically. The nubia Flip3 also incorporates several AI-driven features for daily convenience, including:

The nubia Fold will be available in Black, priced at JPY 178,560 (approximately USD 1,148 or Rs. 1,03,585). It is scheduled to launch in Japan on December 4, 2025, with a broader global rollout planned for 2026.
The nubia Flip3 will be offered in White and Black, with final pricing and availability details to be revealed when it officially goes on sale in January 2026.
