Nokia 2 launched, an entry-level smartphone with 2-day battery life
The rumors were true and the Nokia 2 is now official. This is HMD Global's fifth Android smartphone, and it is aimed at budget buyers who are looking for great build quality and battery-life.
The device sports an impressive build and design for the price-point. The Nokia 2's frame is made of series 6000 aluminum available in pewter black (black face and frame), pewter white (white face and black frame), and Copper (black face, black back, and copper frame). The polycarbonate back of the phone is removable which gives access to the SIM card and memory card slots.
Coming to specs, it comes with a 5-inch HD LTPS display, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, you will find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 SoC (quad-core and clocked up to 1.2 GHz) coupled with just 1GB of RAM. At the back, you have an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and a 5-megapixel selfie camera up front.
Although the device has only 8GB of internal storage out of which less than 4GB is available when you get the device, you can pop in an SD card to expand it up to 128 GB. Moreover, it has separate slots for microSD and the two SIM cards.
HMD boasts Nokia 2 is the first in its segment to come up with Google Assistant. The phone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat and it will be getting an Android Oreo update as well.
The Nokia 2 has been globally priced at EUR 99 and will be available from mid-November. That roughly translates to Rs. 7500, but the Indian pricing has not yet been revealed.
