LG V30+ India launch set for 13 December
LG is all set to launch the V30+ in India on December 13. The new bezel-less smartphone features a 6-inch OLED FullVision display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The V30+ will be the first smartphone in India to feature a f/1.6 aperture lens.
The wider aperture would allow for more light to flow into the camera which would make for better quality images. Moreover, LG is using glass lenses instead of plastic which further help improve image quality.
That's not all, the LG V30+ packs not one but two rear cameras. First is the main 16-megapixel sensor with f/1.6 aperture lens and the second is a 13-megapixel sensor with f/1.9 aperture along with a 120-degree wide-angle lens. LG has always favored wide-angle lenses in its dual-camera setup as opposed to telephoto lenses used on the Galaxy Note 8 and iPhone 8 Plus/iPhone X.
Keeping with the cameras, there is a front-facing 5-megapixel camera as well.
The LG V30+ runs on the Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage which is expandable. A 3300 mAh battery can be found inside the glass/metal body. The battery supports fast charging over the USB Type-C port along with wireless charging built-in.
On the software front, it features Android 7.1 Nougat and is expected to get Oreo update something early next year. Some notable features include an Always On Display which shows shortcuts to quick tools as well as media controls even when the display is off.
Another unique feature about the V30+ is its 32-bit quad-DAC which can even power high-end low-impedance headphones without the need of an external amplifier. Then there's the 3.5mm headphone jack as well for effortless connectivity.
Even with a glass body and metal frame, LG has been able to get a MIL-STD 810G rating for the V30+ which means that it can survive drops easily. Moreover, it is also IP68 dust and water resistant, same as the Galaxy Note 8.
The LG V30+ is expected to be priced under Rs. 50,000 in India. We will know more at the launch event. Stay tuned for updates.
