Huawei Honor 5C expected to launch in India on June 22nd
Huawei has sent out media invites for a launch event on June 22nd and from what we hear, the company is bringing the Honor 5C to India.
The invite however doesn't mention any device, just says 'Come and witness the Genesis of Innovation as Honor accelerates into the next level of smart telephony.' But the company has been teasing about its new 16nm Kirin 650 chipset on twitter and said that a new phone with the chipset is launching on June 22nd. Guess what the Honor 5C runs on?
The Kirin 650 SoC from Huawei consists of two quad-core units working in big.LITTLE configuration, with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.0GHz and another 4 Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz.

So, apart from the new 16nm SoC, the Honor 5C comes with 2GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage and a 5.2-inch 1080p display. It has a 13MP f/2.0 rear camera, 8MP front-facing camera alongwith a 3000 mAh battery. Huawei has also packed a fingerprint sensor on the phone just below the rear camera.
You have dual-SIM slots with 4G LTE and VoLTE support, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and FM Radio. The Honor 5C will run on Android Marshmallow right out of the box with Emotion UI 4.1 on top. At present there is no confirmation on pricing, but given that the phone went on sale in China priced at CNY 999, the Honor 5C may come in around Rs. 10000 in India.
