HTC Bolt goes official with IP57 water resistance, 5.5-inch Quad-HD display, Snapdragon 810

HTC Bolt has finally gone official in the US packing a 5.5-inch Quad-HD display running on last-gen Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor but with Android 7.0 Nougat running the show.

However, the highlight here is that HTC has finally been able to add water resistance to one of its smartphones. The HTC Bolt is IP57 rated for dust and water resistance, which means it can survive in 1 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.

Although we are not getting the rumored 18MP rear camera, there is a 16MP f/2.0 camera here with Optical Image Stabilization and phase detection autofocus. You also get a fingerprint sensor here embedded in the home button up front. HTC's new Boomsound Speakers also make a return here with the front and bottom firing speakers teaming up for stereo output.

For now, the HTC Bolt is a Sprint exclusive in the US and will come in silver and gray color options for $25 per month on a 2-year contract.
