HONOR Unveils “Robot Phone” Concept at MWC 2026 with Embodied AI, 200MP 3-Axis Gimbal Camera, Expressive Motion
HONOR unveiled a bold new concept device, the HONOR Robot Phone, at Mobile World Congress 2026, presenting it as a new evolution of the smartphone. The device combines embodied AI interaction, robot-grade motion control, and advanced cinematic imaging, pushing beyond traditional touch and voice-based interfaces.
Rather than relying solely on static screens and voice commands, the Robot Phone introduces physical, expressive movement into the user experience — effectively giving the device “hands and feet” powered by a multimodal AI brain. With hardware capable of detecting sound, tracking motion, and maintaining visual awareness, it aims to create a more natural, sensory form of interaction.
Embodied AI Interaction -
The Robot Phone’s embodied AI system is designed to make interactions feel intuitive and lifelike. Its key capabilities include:
- All-Angle AI Video Calling - The camera physically follows users using robot-grade motion control, keeping them perfectly framed as they move.
- Expressive Body Language - The camera module can respond with gesture-like movements such as nodding or shaking, adding emotional expression to interactions.
- Music-Responsive Movement - The device can physically move in sync with music, reacting rhythmically to audio playback.
Engineering & Miniaturization -
Integrating robotic components into a smartphone-sized body required major advances in engineering. Leveraging experience gained from foldable devices, HONOR achieved several technical breakthroughs:
- High-Performance Materials - The chassis uses 2800MPa-rated materials engineered with 0.001mm simulation precision for durability and structural accuracy.
- Custom Micro Motor - HONOR developed a proprietary micro motor that is 70% smaller than conventional industry solutions.
- 4DoF Gimbal System - The reduced motor size enabled the integration of what HONOR claims is the industry’s smallest 4-degree-of-freedom gimbal system, forming the foundation for the phone’s motion capabilities.
Cinematic Imaging -
Designed to narrow the gap between smartphone videography and professional filmmaking, the Robot Phone features the industry’s first 3-axis gimbal camera paired with a 200MP sensor. This mechanical system allows for smoother, more controlled movement and unlocks new creative possibilities:

HONOR also announced a strategic technical partnership with ARRI, the globally renowned manufacturer of professional cinema camera systems. According to the company, the first outcomes of this collaboration will debut in the HONOR Robot Phone later this year.
