Amazon Launched Redesigned Echo Spot in India at an Introductory Price of Rs.6,449 with 2.83-inch touch-screen display, Smart alarm clock
Amazon has launched its latest Alexa product, the new Echo Spot in India, succeeding its 2017 model, which debuted in the country in 2018. The new Echo Spot features a refreshed design inspired by the Echo Pop, but unlike its predecessor, it omits video calling and smart home camera capabilities.
Display and User Interaction -
The Echo Spot comes with a 2.83-inch touch-screen display that complements Alexa's responses with visual elements. For instance, asking about the weather will display the temperature along with a graphic icon. Users can personalize their device with eight clock face designs and six color themes: orange, violet, magenta, lime, teal, and blue.
Alarms can be set via voice commands, with options to wake up to music or one of four new alarm sounds: Aurora, Daybreak, Endeavor, and Flutter. Snoozing can be activated by tapping the screen or through a voice command.
Audio Features -
Equipped with a 1.73-inch front-firing speaker, the Echo Spot allows users to stream music, podcasts, and audiobooks from platforms like Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, and JioSaavn (subscriptions required). The display shows the currently playing track, and users can control playback or adjust the volume using voice commands or physical buttons.
Smart Home Integration -
The Echo Spot integrates seamlessly with compatible smart home devices, enabling users to create Alexa Routines. These routines allow the automation of multiple actions with a single command.
For example, a morning routine could gradually brighten smart lights and play music, while an evening routine could dim lights and turn on a television. The Alexa app enables easy setup of such routines, and the Echo Spot’s ultrasound motion detection can trigger routines based on a user's presence.
Communication Features -
The Echo Spot supports audio calls between Alexa-enabled devices. It also features an announcement function to broadcast messages across Echo devices in the home and a Drop-in feature for connecting via audio with other devices.
Privacy Features -
To address privacy concerns, the Echo Spot includes a microphone on/off button. Additionally, users can review and delete their voice recordings.
