XOLO One gets Lollipop update, mocks Android One in the process
Oh, the Irony! XOLO has started rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop for its budget XOLO One smartphone, which notably is not part of Google's Android One project. The XOLO One too features the same specs as its Android One counterparts, so the question begs to be asked. Where is Lollipop update for Android One devices?
Considering XOLO has just a few hundred people working on software, what's keeping Google which employs thousands of software developers and engineers from working on a Lollipop port for its pet project. Google has dropped the ball on Android One, right from the start and it seems the company will probably just mark it as another write-off.
