Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 confirmed to launch tomorrow with metal body, fingerprint sensor
We have been hearing rumors of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro launching at the company's November 24 event in China, but we now have confirmation that it will be called the Redmi Note 3.
The Redmi Note 3 is the successor of the Redmi Note 2 which was launched back in august and is expected to pack pretty much the same internals apart from a fingerprint sensor and the new metal body. So, we may have the same 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display running on the power-house MediaTek MT6795 Helio X10 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz with 2GB / 3GB RAM and a choice of 16GB /32GB onboard storage which will be expandable with a microSD card slot, Android 5.0 Lollipop based MIUI 7.
It is a dual-SIM 4G LTE device with support for dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth LE, GPS and FM Radio. It may pack a battery larger than 3000 mAh. But these are just preliminary specifications, we will know more after tomorrow's event. There is also word on a Redmi Note 3 Prime, which will run on the turbo-clocked Helio X10 at 2.2GHz with 32GB storage and 3GB RAM.
Apart from the new Note, Xiaomi is also expected to unveil the Mi Pad 2, and possibly a new smartwatch.
