Xiaomi MIUI 8 Beta v6.8.11 Update Rolling Out, Brings Revamped Security App, 3-Finger Swipe Screenshot
Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 8 v6.8.11 update for users who are currently on the Global Beta ROM. The OTA update is just 125MB in size (for Redmi Note 3) and should be downloaded over WiFi.
The official changelog highlights some interesting new features like 3-finger swipe for screenshots and then you can also double tap a scrolling screenshot to zoom into its contents. Moreover you screen won't go to sleep while the phone is scrolling to take a screenshot.
The Security app has been completely overhauled and now follows a more consistent, cleaner design for MIUI 8. You now get an optimization tip to clear unused space and memory to improve performance. Various other security tools are now better laid out. You also see a new option for scanning Payment environment, so that you can safely do mobile banking transactions without fear of viruses or some peeping in.
You can view connection speed of individual apps and also test network for any issues. App Lock, Cleaner, Blocklist and App Permissions are still available.
