Xiaomi Mi Note 2 launched with 5.7-inch dual-curved display, Snapdragon 821 starting at Rs. 27700
Xiaomi today launched the Mi Note 2 in China with a curved dual-edge display similar to the Galaxy S7 Edge. You also get a curved glass back on the phone with a frame sandwiched in between.
Xiaomi has gone with a flexible OLED display, 5.7-inches in size with 1080p resolution and a 77.2% screen-to-body ratio. The rear panel is covered in 3D curved glass while the frame is made of series 7 aluminum.
The Mi Note 2 runs on the Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor clocked at 2.35 GHz with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage or 6GB RAM with 128 GB storage. It has a massive 4070 mAH battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0 support.
There is a front facing fingerprint sensor on the device and you have support for NFC. Its compatible with Xiaomi Pay for mobile payments. The company has also packed a 24-bit HiFi DAC which is capable of playing 192KHz audio without any distortion.
On the camera front, you have a 22.56 MP rear camera with Sony IMX318 sensor, capable of recording 4K videos but there is no Optical Image Stabilization here. Instead, Xiaomi has gone with EIS or Electronic Image Stabilization which uses a gyroscope to measure shake and reduce it while capturing videos. EIS is quite useless for capturing low light images.
