This doesn't look like the Xiaomi Mi Band 2
Xiaomi's new Mi Band 2 has already been outed by the company's CEO and will launch on May 10th with the Mi Max and MIUI 8. Now, we have a "live" image floating around which shows the Mi Band 2 with its display on.
But being a skeptic, the image shown above doesn't have the prominent button we saw with the fitness band that Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun was wearing. The one in the image above looks more like the failed YU Fit fitness band which used similar removable module as the original Mi Band but came with a display. A display definitely makes sense in the new Mi Band, as earlier most of the information was available through the Mi Fit app on your smartphone but now that may change with the integrated display.
For now, both images differ from each other quite a lot, which can either mean that Xiaomi is working on two different Mi Bands or that Lei Jun was teasing a completely new product, probably a smartwatch from Xiaomi. All of these questions will get answered next week.
