Xiaomi Mi 4i launched in India for Rs. 12,999 with 5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 615, 2 GB RAM, 4G LTE

Xiaomi today launched the Mi 4i at its Global Mi Phone event in India, a first for the company. Its the latest smartphone in the Mi Series and comes with a 5-inch 1080p fully laminated OGS display, powered by 2nd Generation Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB of non-expandable storage, running MIUI 6 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. There are some India specific features built-in like six Indian languages support in MIUI 6 (Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam), and a Visual IVR to view IVR options on-screen instead of just hearing the options to respond.

There's a 13 MP rear camera with Sony lens, f/2.0 aperture and a two-tone flash alongwith a 5 MP front facing camera with a 80-degree wide-angle lens. The new Mi 4i supports 4G LTE on both SIM cards (dual-SIM) and that's not all you have dual-band (2.4 GHz / 5 GHz) support alongwith MU MIMO wireless technology support for better wireless sharing, Bluetooth 4.1 alongwith GPS. There's a 3120 mAh battery in that thin 7.8 mm shell and the Mi 4i weighs in at just 130 grams even with that large battery. USB OTG is also supported. I am sure to miss the microSD card slot here.

The Xiaomi Mi 4i will be available in white, blue, yellow,pink and black colors and has been priced at just Rs. 12,999. It will be available online through Snapdeal, Amazon and Flipkart starting April 30th, and registrations are now open. You can also purchase the Mi 4i from Mi.com in India as well as through The Mobile Store as well as Airtel Stores. After it is available in India, the Xiaomi Mi 4i will make its way to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia in May.
